Psalm 85:10 (NLT)
Unfailing love and truth have met together.
Righteousness and peace have kissed!

2026 21 Day Fasting
Day 1 (2026)
Jeremiah 29:14 - “I will be found by you.”
If you are like me at all then this journey or season of fasting is for one main goal and that is a pursuit of God (while there are many other things following that).
My longing is “to Know Him and to make Him known!” A phrase I have heard and used a lot in my Christian walk and throughout my ministry. However, this morning as I was praying I felt like the Holy Spirit was emphasizing the first part of that declaration; “TO KNOW HIM!”
Church, if we will seek Him to really know Him not only are we promised to find Him, but the making him known part will be an effortless endeavor!
If our personal life is so filled with God that our cup is running over, anyone who gets near us will get wet just by sheer proximity!
Matthew 7:7 - “Keep on asking and you will receive what you ask for. keep on seeking and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you!”
Jeremiah 29:13 - “If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you WILL find me.”
Day 2 - 2026
“We are humans, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments “
As I continue this journey in chasing after the Lord I am amazed at how difficult I have made things. I don’t think there is a Christian out there that denies the truth that we are at War…however, I do believe we misunderstand the weapons and the battlefield.
God’s weapons are our arsenal…and they are not normal. Our weapons are Prayer, scripture reading, praise (singing), forgiveness, giving and tithing, surrender. None of which make sense in a worldly battle…yet are what we have at our disposal to knock down strongholds!
And the strongholds we are knocking down are that of HUMAN REASONING! In other words, sometimes when we are fighting the battle, pursuing God, or living out his will it is not what you would think! 1 Corinthians 1:27 tells us that God uses the simple to confound the wise!
For example, 2 Chronicles 20 Jehosephat’s enemy is coming after him…his weapon…fasting and singing…and God brought victory! The choir led the charge into battle! No General in there right mind would do that…yet that’s what Jehosephat did AND WON THE VICTORY!!!
Trust God…use His weapons and do it His way and we are guaranteed victory!! Praise the Lord!
Day 3
Psalm 27:4 - “The one thing I ask of the Lord-the one thing I seek most-is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in His temple.”
As I went through my devotion this morning I kept coming back to the thought of the “Love Dare.” If you’re not sure what that is, it’s from a movie called “Fireproof” and is about a failing marriage and it’s restoration as the young man goes through this 40 day book of daily things to restore his marriage.
At first, He’s reluctant and unbelieving, then admitted he’s not really trying and only going through the motions, to having an encounter with God, getting his selfishness out of the way, and allowing God to restore his relationship with his wife. (Short synopsis for a good movie!)
Fasting, is our “Love Dare” with the Lord, if you will. We may enter it reluctantly, felling like we have to and not really expecting too much out of it. However, if we can move beyond ourself, make it about God and at the root of it, desire nothing more than to “know the Lord” we will experience our breakthrough!
As the Psalmist said, “This One Thing!” Self evaluate your “One Thing” and ask yourself, is this about you and your relationship with others, the world, etc…or a Love Dare with God where you have made up your mind, “No matter what, I’m running to you, Lord!”
Day 4
“I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one.” ~ Ezekiel 22:30
It’s a humbling thought to think that the prayers of one person can change a person’s life, the spiritual atmosphere of a church or even the destiny of a nation. Yet the example has been proven not only in the Bible but through the history of the church! So my thought was, if that’s so, why don’t we see it happen more?!
This kind of prayer isn’t easy, simple or quick. The idea of a farmer came to mind when preparing the land for the first time. There are some places where all that’s needed is to simply sow the seed…but there are other places where the hard ground has to be broken up, rocks removed, and soil prepared.
Most of us never get beyond the sowing of seeds in our prayer life. We pray for others, absolutely, but God is looking for those who will stand in the Gap, to pray the hard prayers and go the distance! Breaking up bad ground is hard work! Laborious and exhausting! Yet this is the kind of prayer the world needs today!
A simple phrase about prayer has stuck with me throughout my Christian walk: P.U.S.H. or Pray Until Something Happens! Be willing to put in the hard work, stand in the gap and watch God work!
